Pioneer Spirit Hike/Bike Trail
The Pioneer Spirit Trail extends 5.5 continuous miles starting or ending at Libs Park, near 14th Street and Baltimore Avenue, winds through the Lake Hastings area, crosses Hwy. 281, continues by the American Legion Wayside Park, crosses Osborne Drive East, heads east to Elm Street, then south to Hastings College, winds through Heartwell Park to Eastside Boulevard, then south on Eastside Boulevard and ends or starts at the historic old Burlington Railroad Depot at 501 West 1st Street.

Hastings welcomes thousands of softball enthusiasts and their families throughout the spring, summer, and fall as the Nebraska Softball Association hosts tournaments for all ages. The Complex houses 7 softball diamonds, grand stands, 2 concession stands, 1 baseball diamond, a players lounge and 4 full size soccer fields . The facility hosts community softball leagues and soccer tournaments throughout the year.
