Bill Smith Softball Complex
Hwy. 281 on the north side of Hastings

Get ready for action at one of the finest complexes in the United States!  This fantastic complex includes seven softball fields each equipped with a 300 foot distance from home plate to the outfield fence.  Portable fencing allows for the fields to accommodate any division of championship play.  The perfectly groomed fields allow for play in nearly any kind of weather, only torrential downpours halt play.

Sitting at the hub of the complex is a three level building filled with amenities for our softballers and their families.  Each Field has its own public address system and umpires on the fields can communicate with scorekeepers on the third level using an intercom system.

The Bill Smith Softball Complex is located in the 60-acre Prairie Ridge Park in north Hastings.  The Nebraska Softball Association is in charge of ASA Championship State and National tournaments at the complex.  The city of Hastings uses the facility for city league games, and is responsible for complex maintenance.

Duncan Field

According to many Nebraska baseball aficionados, Duncan Field is considered one of the best fields in the state.

Duncan field was the home of the Hastings Giants in the class "D" Nebraska State League from 1956 through 1959. They were a farm team of the New York/San Francisco Giants. In 1959 Hastings was host to the American Legion National Championship. Over 23,000 fans attended the event held in early September 1959.  The success of the 1959 American Legion World Series led to Hastings hosting the tournament in 1960 and 1961. Today the field is utilized by American Legion Baseball and Hastings College.
