The beauty of the Hastings College campus is due in part to the tradition of tree planting and care beginning with the first spring planting season in 1883 and, with the help of countless volunteers and professionals, continuing to the present. Come explore the HC Arboretum, rich with old and young trees and species variety, located in the heart of the Great Plains near the 40th parallel and 98th meridian at an elevation of approximately 1,920'.
Contact Dr. Will Locke '61, Emeritus Professor of Teacher Education wlocke@hastings.edu to arrange tours of the HC Arboretum. Tours would be for classes, alums, benefactors, visitors, families, school groups, clubs and organizations, individuals, etc. Dr. Locke would work with the group leader to determine scheduling, activities, and themes.
