Hastings Community Theatre, located at Good Samaritan Village, is an all volunteer organization dedicated to producing four or five live shows each season--and giving local and area people an opportunity to have experiences in live-on-stage- theatre.
A long list of wonderful musicals followed and recently, "Annie", Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", " Bye, Bye Birdie", "The Wizard of Oz", and "The Music Man" played to sell-out houses. Besides the musicals, HCT is known for their variety of superb plays--everything from comedy to heavy drama...to name just a few, " Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf', "Noises Off", "Greater Tuna".......HCT plans each season to include four or five productions with six performances of each. A new focus that included a theatre for children of all ages was begun in the summer of 2008. "Grease" was their first production and was a huge success. Other performances during the next few summers include "The Boxcar Children", "Willy Wonka, Jr., the Musical", "Little Women", and "The Little Mermaid"!
The theatre seats 190 and includes several recent renovations include a new box office, carpet and seats.
